CVE-2016-2184 is a vulnerability in the create_fixed_stream_quirk function of the snd-usb-audio driver in the Linux kernel before version 4.5.1. The flaw allows physically proximate attackers to trigger a NULL pointer dereference or double free by providing a crafted endpoints value in a USB device descriptor. This results in a system crash (denial of service). The vulnerability is due to improper validation of USB device descriptors in the affected function.
