CakePHP 3.2.4 and earlier contains an IP spoofing vulnerability in the clientIp() function. The function improperly trusts the CLIENT-IP HTTP header when determining the originating client address, allowing a remote attacker to supply a forged header value and cause the application to misidentify the attacker’s source IP. Based on the provided advisory, affected versions include multiple maintained branches prior to the vendor fixes, including 2.6.13, 2.7.11, 2.8.2, 3.0.17, 3.1.12, and 3.2.5.
