A directory traversal vulnerability exists in WordPress 4.5.3 within the wp_ajax_update_plugin function in wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php. Remote authenticated users can exploit this by supplying a crafted plugin parameter containing directory traversal sequences (..), allowing them to read arbitrary text files on the server or cause a denial of service, such as by reading /dev/random and depleting the system's entropy pool.
