A persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in AlienVault OSSIM and USM before version 5.3.2. The vulnerability is present in the handling of the User-Agent header during the login process. Malicious JavaScript injected via the User-Agent header is stored and later executed in the context of an administrator viewing current sessions, allowing for session hijacking or other attacks.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/alienvault_sqli_exec.rb) targeting AlienVault OSSIM versions 4.3.1 and lower. The exploit leverages an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability (CVE-2016-8581) in the 'geoloc/graph_geoloc.php' endpoint to retrieve an active admin session ID. Using this session, it creates a new policy action containing an attacker-supplied payload, resulting in remote code execution as root. The module includes cleanup routines to remove the malicious policy and action after exploitation. The exploit is operational, allowing arbitrary command execution via generic, Perl, or Python payloads. The code is written in Ruby and is designed to be used within the Metasploit framework.
