CVE-2017-11392 is a proxy command injection vulnerability in Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Virtual Appliance (IMSVA) versions 9.0 and 9.1. The flaw exists in the modTMCSS Proxy component when parsing the "T" parameter. A remote attacker can supply crafted input to this parameter and trigger improper neutralization of special elements in a command context, resulting in arbitrary command execution on the target system. The issue was formerly tracked as ZDI-CAN-4745.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (Ruby file) that exploits a combination of authentication bypass and command injection vulnerabilities in Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance (IMSVA). The exploit works by first accessing a publicly available diagnostic.log file to extract a valid JSESSIONID, which is then used to authenticate to the widget framework. Finally, it triggers a command injection vulnerability in proxy_controller.php by sending a specially crafted POST request, allowing arbitrary Python code execution as the web server user. The module targets three CVEs (CVE-2017-7896, CVE-2017-11392, CVE-2017-11391) and is operational, providing remote code execution capabilities. The main endpoints involved are the diagnostic.log file, index.php for session initiation, and proxy_controller.php for command injection. The code is structured as a typical Metasploit exploit module, with clear separation of the check, authentication, and exploitation phases.
