Shopware versions 5.2.5 through 5.3 are affected by a persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the customer and order sections of the backend content management modules. Remote attackers can inject malicious JavaScript code into the firstname, lastname, or order input fields, which is then persistently stored and executed in the context of the backend administrator interface when previewing customers or orders. The attack can be performed via user registration or manipulation of order information, and can be exploited by low-privileged users to target higher-privileged backend users (e.g., admins or moderators).
