CVE-2017-3807 is a heap overflow vulnerability in the Common Internet Filesystem (CIFS) code within the Clientless SSL VPN functionality of Cisco ASA Software (versions 9.0-9.6). The vulnerability arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied input, allowing an authenticated remote attacker to send a crafted URL to the affected system, resulting in a heap overflow. The issue is present only when the ASA is configured in routed firewall mode (single or multiple context) and can be triggered by both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic. Exploitation requires a valid TCP connection and valid credentials to access the Clientless SSL VPN portal.
