Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA) 6.5 before CP 1746 improperly manages CA certificate and private key data. By default, IWSVA acts as a private CA and generates certificates for HTTPS interception. Low-privileged attackers can download the CA certificate and private key (default or administrator-uploaded), and the default private key is protected by a weak passphrase, making it trivial to decrypt. This allows attackers to obtain the private key used for HTTPS interception.
