CVE-2017-6478 is a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in paintballrefjosh/MaNGOSWebV4 before version 4.0.8. The issue is present in install/index.php, where the step parameter is not properly sanitized or encoded before being reflected into the HTTP response. An attacker can craft a malicious URL containing script content in the step parameter and induce a victim to visit it, causing attacker-controlled JavaScript to execute in the victim's browser within the security context of the affected MaNGOSWebV4 application.
