CVE-2017-6548 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the networkmap service of multiple ASUS router models (including RT-N56U, RT-N66U, RT-AC66U, RT-AC68U, RT-AC87U, RT-AC3200, RT-AC53U, RT-AC1750, RT-AC1900P, RT-N300, RT-AC750, and others) running firmware versions prior to 3.0.0.4.380.7378 (and model-specific earlier versions). The vulnerability is triggered by sending a crafted multicast message with an overly long host or port field, which overflows a buffer in the networkmap process, potentially allowing remote code execution on the device. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable from the LAN and does not require authentication.
