CVE-2017-8824 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) socket implementation, present since kernel version 2.6.16 and fixed after upstream version 4.14.3. The flaw occurs in dccp_disconnect() in net/dccp/proto.c when a DCCP socket in the DCCP_LISTEN state is subjected to a connect system call using the AF_UNSPEC address family. Improper object lifetime handling can leave the socket code operating on freed memory.
