CVE-2017-8835 is a boolean-based blind SQL injection vulnerability affecting Peplink Balance and FusionHub devices (models 305, 380, 580, 710, 1350, 2500) with firmware prior to 7.0.1 build 2093. The vulnerability is present in the /cgi-bin/MANGA/admin.cgi endpoint, where the 'bauth' cookie is unsafely handled, allowing attackers to inject arbitrary SQL queries into the backend SQLite database. Exploitation enables authentication bypass and enumeration of sensitive data, such as session IDs and usernames, including those with administrative privileges. The vulnerability is exploitable via automated tools, such as a dedicated Metasploit module, and is limited only by fixed-size C buffers restricting query length.

This repository contains a single Metasploit auxiliary module targeting Peplink Balance routers (firmware up to 7.0.0-build1904) vulnerable to unauthenticated SQL injection (CVE-2017-8835). The exploit leverages a flaw in the handling of the 'bauth' cookie to perform SQL injection, enumerate active session IDs, and retrieve valid session cookies, including those of admin users. With a valid session cookie, the module can access sensitive endpoints to download the router's configuration and gather detailed system information, effectively bypassing authentication. The module provides options to enumerate usernames, privileges, and limit the number of sessions checked. The code is written in Ruby and is structured as a typical Metasploit module, making it easy to use within the framework. The main attack vector is network-based, targeting the router's web management interface. Key HTTP endpoints used include '/cgi-bin/MANGA/admin.cgi', '/cgi-bin/MANGA/data.cgi', and '/cgi-bin/MANGA/download_config.cgi'.
