CVE-2018-1002203 is a directory traversal vulnerability in the unzipper npm library prior to version 0.8.13. The vulnerability, also known as 'Zip Slip', allows attackers to craft malicious zip archives containing entries with '../' sequences. When such an archive is extracted by vulnerable code, files can be written outside the intended extraction directory, potentially overwriting arbitrary files on the filesystem. This occurs because the extraction logic fails to properly sanitize or validate the file paths in archive entries before concatenating them with the target extraction directory.
