CVE-2018-10237 is an unbounded memory allocation vulnerability affecting Google Guava versions 11.0 through 24.1, before 24.1.1. During deserialization, AtomicDoubleArray through Java serialization and CompoundOrdering through GWT serialization eagerly allocate arrays using attacker-controlled size fields without adequate validation. A crafted serialized message can request an excessively large allocation without supplying the corresponding array elements, enabling remote denial of service through memory exhaustion or a server crash.

A denial-of-service vulnerability in Google Guava caused by unchecked eager memory allocation during deserialization. AtomicDoubleArray using Java serialization and CompoundOrdering using GWT serialization can allocate excessive memory when processing attacker-provided data. The reference assigns a CVSS v3 base score of 5.9 and recommends upgrading com.google.guava:guava to 24.1.1-android or later.

A Guava denial-of-service flaw caused by unbounded memory allocation in AtomicDoubleArray and CompoundOrdering.
A Guava denial-of-service vulnerability in which unbounded memory allocation in the AtomicDoubleArray and CompoundOrdering classes can be triggered remotely.
