CVE-2018-1120 is a Linux kernel flaw affecting versions before 4.17. A local attacker can map a FUSE-backed file over memory holding a process's command-line arguments or environment strings. When another program reads the corresponding procfs command-line or environment pseudo-file, resolution of the FUSE-backed mapping can cause the read to block indefinitely or for an attacker-controlled interval. Procps/psutils utilities, including ps and w, are affected when they read this process metadata.
