CVE-2018-11409 is an information disclosure vulnerability in Splunk Enterprise versions 6.2.x through 6.5.x. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated access to sensitive information about the host operating system, hardware, and Splunk license via the REST endpoint /services/server/info/server-info?output_mode=json. This endpoint is required for Splunk clustering and instrumentation and cannot be disabled. In versions prior to 6.6.0, the information is accessible without authentication; in 6.6.0 and later, access is restricted to authenticated users.
