CVE-2018-15379 is a critical vulnerability in Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) versions 3.2 and later, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to upload arbitrary files via TFTP to a directory with unrestricted permissions. The uploaded files, such as JSP web shells, can be executed via the Apache Tomcat web server as the unprivileged 'prime' user. Additionally, a local privilege escalation flaw exists in the SUID binary 'runrshell', which can be exploited to gain root access through improper command handling. The TFTP service is open to the world by default, making exploitation trivial.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/cisco_prime_inf_rce.rb) targeting Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) versions prior to 3.4.1 and 3.3.1 Update 02. The exploit leverages two vulnerabilities: an unauthenticated file upload via TFTP and a privilege escalation using a SUID binary (/opt/CSCOlumos/bin/runrshell). The module generates a payload (EXE), encodes it in base64, and embeds it in a JSP file, which is uploaded to the target. The JSP, when accessed, writes the payload to disk, creates a shell script to execute it with root privileges, and attempts to clean up. The exploit achieves unauthenticated remote code execution as root. The module is operational and allows for customizable payloads via Metasploit. Key endpoints include the /swimtemp HTTP path and the /opt/CSCOlumos directory on the target. The code is well-structured, with clear separation of payload generation, upload, and execution logic.
