An issue was discovered in Snap Creek Duplicator before 1.2.42. By accessing leftover installer files (installer.php and installer-backup.php), an attacker can inject PHP code into wp-config.php during the database setup step, achieving arbitrary code execution.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/multi/php/wp_duplicator_code_inject.rb) that exploits a remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2018-17207) in the Snap Creek Duplicator WordPress plugin (versions <= 1.2.40). The exploit targets leftover installer.php or installer-backup.php files, which allow unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the wp-config.php file with arbitrary PHP code via unsanitized POST parameters. The module first checks for the presence of the vulnerable endpoint, optionally creates the wp-config.php file if it does not exist, and then injects a user-supplied PHP payload (defaulting to a Meterpreter reverse shell). The exploit is weaponized, allowing for customizable payloads and session management via Metasploit. Notable endpoints include /installer.php, /installer-backup.php, and the wp-config.php file. The exploit will break the target site's configuration file, so restoration from backup is recommended after exploitation.
