CVE-2018-19361 is an unsafe polymorphic deserialization vulnerability in FasterXML Jackson Databind. Versions prior to the applicable fixed releases fail to block OpenJPA gadget classes from polymorphic deserialization. In applications that deserialize attacker-controlled data with polymorphic typing enabled and have the relevant OpenJPA classes available, a crafted serialized object can invoke the gadget path during deserialization.
