CVE-2018-19410 affects PRTG Network Monitor before 18.2.40.1683. The issue is in /public/login.htm, where a remote unauthenticated attacker can craft an HTTP request that overrides attributes of the 'include' directive. This allows inclusion and execution of a local application resource, specifically /api/addusers, constituting a local file inclusion condition. By supplying the 'id' and 'users' parameters to the included functionality, the attacker can invoke the user-creation logic without authentication and create a new account with read-write privileges, including administrative privileges.

This repository contains a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2018-19410, targeting PRTG Network Monitor version 18.2.39.1661 and earlier. The exploit is implemented in a single Python script (CVE-2018-19410-POC.py) and is accompanied by a README.md with usage instructions and vulnerability details. The script takes a target IP and a username as arguments, then sends a crafted HTTP POST request to the vulnerable endpoint '/public/login.htm?file=/api/addusers.htm' on the target. This leverages an authentication bypass and improper authorization flaw, allowing remote, unauthenticated attackers to create new users (including with administrative privileges) on the PRTG instance. The exploit does not require authentication and is executed remotely over the network. No hardcoded payloads or advanced post-exploitation features are present, making this a clear proof-of-concept for the described vulnerability.
