CVE-2018-20434 is an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability in LibreNMS version 1.46. The vulnerability arises from improper handling of user-supplied input in the 'community' POST parameter during device creation (html/pages/addhost.inc.php). An attacker with valid credentials can inject arbitrary OS commands into the SNMP community string, which are later executed when a crafted request is made to /ajax_output.php?id=capture&format=text&type=snmpwalk&hostname=localhost, triggering command execution in html/includes/output/capture.inc.php. This allows the attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying server.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a command injection vulnerability (CVE-2018-20434) in LibreNMS (v1.46). The exploit abuses the 'community' parameter in the /addhost POST request, which is unsanitized and passed to a shell command, allowing arbitrary command execution. The module requires valid LibreNMS credentials and interacts with several HTTP endpoints: /login (for authentication), /addhost (to inject the payload), /ajax_output.php (to trigger the payload), and /delhost (to clean up the added device). The payload is customizable and defaults to a reverse shell. The code is written in Ruby and is fully integrated into the Metasploit framework, making it weaponized and easy to use for penetration testers. The exploit is operational against Linux platforms running the affected LibreNMS version.
