CVE-2018-3214 is an infinite-loop flaw in the Sound component RIFF-format reader in Oracle Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit, and affected OpenJDK-derived distributions. Crafted RIFF audio data can cause the parser to enter a loop with no reachable exit condition, consuming process resources. Affected Oracle releases include Java SE 6u201, 7u191, and 8u182; Java SE Embedded 8u181; and JRockit R28.3.19. The issue is associated with OpenJDK issue 8205361.
