CVE-2018-8532 is an information disclosure vulnerability in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) versions 17.9 and 18.0. The vulnerability arises when SSMS parses a malicious XMLA file containing a reference to an external entity. This is a classic XML External Entity (XXE) vulnerability, which can allow an attacker to exfiltrate sensitive information from the system where SSMS is running if a user opens a crafted XMLA file.
