CVE-2018-9285 is an OS command injection vulnerability in ASUS router firmware affecting multiple RT-series devices. The flaw is present in Main_Analysis_Content.asp within /apply.cgi and allows attacker-controlled input from the SystemCmd variable to reach operating system command execution logic through the pingCNT and destIP fields without proper neutralization. A remote attacker can inject shell metacharacters or otherwise crafted command content into these parameters and cause arbitrary commands to be executed by the underlying system on vulnerable devices.
