CVE-2019-10785 is a cross-site scripting vulnerability in dojox affecting all versions prior to 1.16.1, 1.15.2, 1.14.5, 1.13.6, 1.12.7, and 1.11.9. The flaw is in dojox.xmpp.util.xmlEncode, which fails to correctly encode all occurrences of special characters and only encodes the first occurrence of each character. This incomplete output encoding can allow attacker-controlled input to remain partially unescaped when incorporated into XML- or HTML-related contexts, enabling script injection in applications that rely on the function for sanitization. Reported exposure includes users of dojox/xmpp and dojox/dtl, and exploitability depends on application code passing untrusted data through the vulnerable routine and then rendering the result in a browser-executable context.
