CVE-2019-16869 is an HTTP request-smuggling vulnerability in Netty versions before 4.1.42.Final. Netty incorrectly accepts whitespace between an HTTP header field name and its colon delimiter. This can create an HTTP parsing discrepancy between Netty and an upstream proxy, load balancer, or other intermediary that interprets the malformed header differently, enabling request desynchronization.
