CVE-2019-16942 is an unsafe polymorphic deserialization vulnerability in FasterXML jackson-databind versions 2.0.0 through 2.9.10. When Default Typing is enabled globally or for a property on an externally exposed JSON endpoint, Jackson can deserialize attacker-controlled types through the Apache Commons DBCP 1.4 gadget classes org.apache.commons.dbcp.datasources.SharedPoolDataSource and PerUserPoolDataSource. If the required Commons DBCP dependency is present and an attacker can reach an RMI service endpoint, deserialization can cause the service to execute a malicious payload.
