CVE-2020-10644 is a critical vulnerability in Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA (versions 8.0.0 to 8.0.7) that allows unauthenticated remote code execution. The vulnerability arises from insecure Java deserialization in the ProjectDownload.getDiffs() function, accessible via the /system/gateway endpoint. The function deserializes attacker-controlled data without a class whitelist, and the use of an outdated Apache Commons Beanutils (1.9.2) library enables exploitation via a known gadget chain. Attackers can send a crafted payload (e.g., generated with ysoserial) to achieve arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM (Windows) or root (Linux).

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/multi/scada/inductive_ignition_rce.rb) that exploits a Java deserialization vulnerability in Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA versions 8.0.0 through 8.0.7 (CVE-2020-10644, CVE-2020-12004). The exploit is unauthenticated and works against default installations on both Windows and Linux, providing remote code execution as SYSTEM or root. The module fingerprints the target by querying /system/gwinfo and /main/system/gwinfo, then delivers a serialized Java payload to /system/gateway, resulting in arbitrary code execution. The payload is customizable via Metasploit, supporting reverse shells and Meterpreter sessions. The exploit was demonstrated at Pwn2Own Miami 2020 and is considered weaponized due to its integration in Metasploit and support for multiple payloads and platforms.
