CVE-2020-11579 is a local file disclosure vulnerability in Chadha PHPKB 9.0 Enterprise Edition. The vulnerability exists in the installer/test-connection.php script, which, during the installation process, allows remote unauthenticated attackers to disclose arbitrary local files. This is possible on systems running PHP versions prior to 7.2.16, or on systems where the MySQL ALLOW LOCAL DATA INFILE option is enabled. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of file input and insufficient validation of user-supplied data.

This repository contains a Python exploit script (CVE-2020-11579.py) targeting CVE-2020-11579, an arbitrary file disclosure vulnerability in PHPKB 9.0 Enterprise Edition (MySQL database). The exploit works by running a rogue MySQL server that the target PHPKB instance connects to, allowing the attacker to request and exfiltrate arbitrary files from the server with web-server privileges. The script can be run in a mode that only starts the rogue server, or it can also trigger the vulnerable connection via a crafted HTTP GET request to the target's test-connection.php endpoint. The repository includes a README with detailed usage instructions and examples, a requirements.txt for dependencies, and standard project files. The main entry point is CVE-2020-11579.py, which implements the full exploit logic. The exploit is operational and provides file exfiltration capabilities against vulnerable PHPKB installations.
