CVE-2020-11991 is an XML external entity (XXE) vulnerability in Apache Cocoon's StreamGenerator. When a Cocoon sitemap pipeline invokes StreamGenerator, attacker-controlled XML is parsed with support for external system entities. A crafted XML document can cause the server to resolve an external entity referencing a local resource, resulting in disclosure of files readable by the Cocoon process. Apache Cocoon 2.1.12 is confirmed vulnerable; 2.1.13 is confirmed patched for the tested condition.
