CVE-2020-13167 is a critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in Netsweeper webadmin (up to and including version 6.4.3). The flaw resides in the /webadmin/tools/unixlogin.php endpoint, which improperly handles user-supplied input in the 'password' parameter. This parameter is passed directly to a Python crypt function, allowing attackers to inject shell metacharacters and arbitrary commands. The vulnerability can be exploited by sending a crafted HTTP request with a manipulated Referer header and malicious password value, resulting in arbitrary command execution as root on the server.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a pre-authentication Python code injection vulnerability (CVE-2020-13167) in the Netsweeper WebAdmin component's unixlogin.php script (versions 6.4.4 and prior). The exploit works by sending a crafted POST request to /webadmin/tools/unixlogin.php, injecting arbitrary Python code via the password field. Authentication is bypassed by using a whitelisted Referer header. The module checks for vulnerability by querying /webadmin/tools/systemstatus_remote.php and parsing the version string. If the target is vulnerable, the module delivers a Python payload (default: python/meterpreter/reverse_https) that executes as root, providing the attacker with a shell or Meterpreter session. The exploit is weaponized, allowing for customizable payloads and reliable exploitation. The code is written in Ruby and is structured as a standard Metasploit exploit module, with clear separation of check and exploit logic, and includes all necessary options for targeting and payload delivery.
