CVE-2020-36158 is a buffer overflow in the Linux kernel Marvell mwifiex wireless driver, in mwifiex_cmd_802_11_ad_hoc_start() in join.c. Linux kernel versions through 5.10.4 may insufficiently bound an SSID value while constructing an ad-hoc-start command, allowing an oversized SSID to overflow a buffer. The flaw is also identified as CID-5c455c5ab332.
