A vulnerability in IBM Power9 processors running AIX 7.1, 7.2, and VIOS 3.1 allows a local user to obtain sensitive information from the L1 cache. Under certain conditions, data remaining in the L1 cache may be accessible to a local attacker, potentially exposing sensitive information processed by other users or processes. This is a hardware-level side-channel vulnerability similar to other cache-based information disclosure issues.
