CVE-2020-5847 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in Unraid OS versions up to 6.8.0. The flaw arises from unsafe use of PHP's extract function and eval statements in template.php and DefaultPageLayout.php, allowing attackers to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code. When combined with the authentication bypass (CVE-2020-5849), exploitation is possible over the network without authentication, granting attackers root access to the system and unrestricted access to the entire filesystem, including encrypted disks.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/linux/http/unraid_auth_bypass_exec.rb) targeting Unraid version 6.8.0. The exploit leverages two vulnerabilities (CVE-2020-5847 and CVE-2020-5849): an authentication bypass and an insecure use of PHP's extract() function, allowing unauthenticated remote code execution as root. The module is written in Ruby and uses Metasploit's HttpClient and PhpEXE mixins. The exploit works by sending a specially crafted GET request to the '/webGui/images/green-on.png/' endpoint, injecting a base64-encoded PHP payload via GET parameters. If successful, the payload is executed on the target system. The module includes a check method to verify if the target is running the vulnerable version. The only file in the repository is the exploit module itself, and it is fully operational within the Metasploit framework.
