CVE-2021-21604 is an unsafe deserialization vulnerability in Jenkins 2.274 and earlier and Jenkins LTS 2.263.1 and earlier. When XML REST API deserialization fails because submitted data is invalid, Jenkins can retain invalid object references in Old Data Monitor. An attacker authorized to create or configure applicable Jenkins objects can submit crafted content that is retained there. If an administrator subsequently discards the recorded old data, Jenkins can instantiate potentially unsafe objects.
