CVE-2021-23336 is a web-cache-poisoning vulnerability in CPython's urllib.parse.parse_qsl and urllib.parse.parse_qs functions. Affected versions accept both semicolons and ampersands as query-parameter separators. An attacker can use semicolon-delimited parameters to create a parsing discrepancy between an intermediary proxy cache and the Python origin application. If the proxy does not treat the semicolon-delimited parameter as part of its cache key while the application does, parameter cloaking can cause a malicious response to be stored and subsequently served as though it were associated with a benign request. Affected upstream releases include CPython before 3.6.13, 3.7.10, 3.8.8, and 3.9.2.
