CVE-2021-28664 is a memory corruption vulnerability in the Arm Mali GPU kernel driver in which CPU read-only pages can be made writable. A local unprivileged user can obtain read/write access to memory that should remain read-only, resulting in writes to protected memory pages. The issue affects Mali Midgard, Bifrost, and Valhall driver branches, specifically Bifrost r0p0 through r29p0 before r30p0, Valhall r19p0 through r29p0 before r30p0, and Midgard r8p0 through r30p0 before r31p0. The flaw can lead to corruption of kernel or process memory and has been reported as exploited in limited, targeted attacks.
