CVE-2021-33198 is an uncontrolled memory-consumption vulnerability in Go's math/big.Rat rational-number parser. In Go releases before 1.15.13 and 1.16.x releases before 1.16.5, math/big.Rat.SetString and math/big.Rat.UnmarshalText can process numeric inputs containing extremely large exponents in a manner that attempts excessive memory allocation. The resulting condition can panic the application or cause an unrecoverable fatal error.
