Gutenberg Template Library & Redux Framework for WordPress through version 4.2.11 registers multiple AJAX actions accessible without authentication. The action identifiers are intended to be site-specific but are deterministically derived from the site URL using known MD5 salts. An attacker can predict these identifiers and invoke the associated actions to disclose active plugin names and versions, the PHP version, and an unsalted MD5 digest derived from the WordPress AUTH_KEY and SECURE_AUTH_KEY.

This repository contains a proof-of-concept PHP exploit for CVE-2021-38314, an unauthenticated sensitive information disclosure vulnerability in the Redux Framework WordPress plugin. The main file, CVE-2021-38314.php, demonstrates how to exploit the vulnerability by sending crafted requests to the target's admin-ajax.php endpoint, using hash-based action parameters to bypass authentication and retrieve sensitive data. The script also interacts with an external service (verify.redux.io) to obtain a required code for the exploit. The repository is minimal, with only the exploit script and a brief README describing the vulnerability. The exploit is network-based and targets WordPress sites running the vulnerable Redux Framework plugin.
This repository contains a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2021-38314, targeting the Gutenberg Template Library & Redux Framework WordPress plugin (<= 4.2.11). The exploit is implemented in a single PHP file (CVE-2021-38314.php) and leverages predictable AJAX actions registered by the vulnerable plugin. By generating specific md5 hashes based on the target site URL and known salts, the script crafts requests to the target's /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php endpoint to retrieve sensitive information. An additional request is made to an external verification service (verify.redux.io) to obtain a code needed for the final data extraction. The README provides background on the vulnerability, usage instructions, and references. The exploit demonstrates unauthenticated sensitive information disclosure, including plugin lists, PHP version, and hashes of authentication keys.
