A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Rittal CMC PU III Web management version V3.11.00_2, where the web application fails to sanitize user input in the PU-Hostname field of the TCP/IP Configuration dialog. An attacker can inject shell commands, which are executed as root when the data is processed, allowing for arbitrary command execution, such as establishing a reverse shell.
