CVE-2021-4458 is a SQL injection vulnerability in the Modern Events Calendar Lite plugin for WordPress. In all versions up to and including 6.3.0, the plugin's wp_ajax_mec_load_single_page AJAX action fails to properly sanitize and safely prepare the user-controlled 'id' parameter before incorporating it into an SQL query. Because of insufficient escaping and lack of adequate use of prepared statements, an unauthenticated attacker can inject arbitrary SQL fragments into an existing query. According to the provided information, exploitation can be used to extract sensitive information from the backend database. The issue is only exploitable on sites where addslashes is disabled.
