CVE-2021-47069 is a race-related use-after-free condition in Linux kernel IPC handling for POSIX message queues, System V message queues, and semaphores. A receiver can place an extended wait-queue structure allocated on its stack into a wait queue. A concurrent sender or wake-up path can mark that structure ready, allowing the receiver to return and invalidate the stack object, then subsequently dereference the stale structure while attempting to wake the receiving task. The affected paths include POSIX message-queue send/receive handling, with analogous conditions in System V message and semaphore wake-up processing.
