CVE-2021-47073 is an improper lifecycle-state handling flaw in the Linux kernel platform/x86 Dell SMBIOS WMI support. Driver initialization registers the Dell SMBIOS WMI driver only when the Dell WMI interface is supported, but the module exit routine unregisters the driver unconditionally. Removing the dell_smbios module on a system where registration did not occur triggers an unexpected driver-unregister warning and kernel oops. The fix makes unregistration conditional on the same Dell WMI support condition used for registration.
