CVE-2021-47236 is a memory leak in the Linux kernel CDC EEM USB networking driver. In the transmit path, eem_tx_fixup() may call skb_copy_expand(). If that allocation fails, the function returns NULL without releasing the original socket buffer. Because usbnet_start_xmit() receives NULL, it does not get an opportunity to free that original buffer. The fix releases the original skb before checking the clone/copy result and returning failure.
