CVE-2021-47353 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel UDF filesystem implementation. In udf_symlink(), the buffer-head member of the extent position structure is assigned the return value of udf_tgetblk(), which can return NULL when the underlying block-buffer acquisition fails. The vulnerable code dereferences that member without validating it. The upstream fix adds a NULL check before the buffer head is used.
