CVE-2021-47459 is a race-condition use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel CAN J1939 subsystem. Concurrent execution of j1939_netdev_start() during socket binding on the same CAN network device can allow one execution path to release the j1939_priv rx_kref while another obtains a reference to it. This produces a reference-count addition on zero and a use-after-free condition. The upstream fix serializes both rx_kref acquisition and release with j1939_netdev_lock.
