CVE-2021-47952 is a remote code execution vulnerability in the Python jsonpickle library affecting version 2.0.0. The issue arises when jsonpickle.decode() processes untrusted JSON containing a py/repr tag. In the vulnerable deserialization path, py/repr data is routed through internal repr-restoration logic that passes attacker-controlled content into Python's eval() function. Because the vulnerable version permits this behavior by default, a crafted JSON payload can cause arbitrary Python expressions to be evaluated during deserialization. Any application that decodes attacker-supplied data with affected jsonpickle versions may therefore allow code execution in the context of the application process.
