CVE-2022-0324 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the DHCPv6 packet parsing code of the dhcp6relay process in Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) version 202111. The flaw occurs due to improper handling of packet data in a memcpy call, allowing a remote attacker to craft a malicious DHCPv6 packet that triggers an out-of-bounds memory write, resulting in a crash of the dhcp relay docker. The vulnerability was discovered by Eugene Lim of GovTech Singapore.

This repository provides a proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2022-0324, targeting the SONiC dhcp6relay service. The structure includes a Dockerfile for setting up a vulnerable environment, a shell script (add_ipv6_addresses.sh) to configure network interfaces and Redis, and the main exploit script (exploit.py) written in Python. The exploit crafts and sends a malformed DHCPv6 RELAY-REPL message with an excessively large option length to a specific IPv6 address and UDP port, aiming to trigger a vulnerability in the dhcp6relay service. The README references a blog post for further details. The exploit is network-based and requires the target to be configured as per the provided scripts. No detection scripts or fake code are present; the repository is a functional POC exploit.
