CVE-2022-20368 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Linux kernel AF_PACKET receive path. When an AF_PACKET socket uses PACKET_COPY_THRESH together with memory-mapped packet-ring operations, tpacket_rcv() can queue socket buffers whose skb control buffer contains uninitialized or stale data. packet_recvmsg() subsequently uses that data in a copy-length calculation, resulting in an oversized copy and slab out-of-bounds access.
