CVE-2022-2048 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty's HTTP/2 server implementation. When Jetty processes an invalid HTTP/2 request, faulty error handling can fail to clean up active connections and their associated resources. Repeated malformed requests can exhaust available server resources, preventing legitimate requests from being processed. In affected Jenkins deployments, the flaw can make the Jenkins UI unresponsive when HTTP/2 is enabled.
